I have a buddy of mine who is going to be using a 14B on his Ford Probe.

The 14B and all Mitsubishi turbos work off of very little oil pressure right? Were were wondering what pressure the turbo sees. He doesn't want to put it inline with his stock oil system and risk damageing it by feeding oil at too high of a pressure.

Any insight on what pressure the DSM turbos usually see?

Thanks.

When I put on my 14b I was advised by a friend (and shop owner) to use the oil feed from the head not the filter housing, he said the filter housing is just too much for it. Sorry I can't be more technical than that but I'm just going by what I was told.

I feed my 14b the oil from the oil cooler. It has been like this for about a year now and no problems with leaking seals yet. The turbo was off of a '90 originally and I definately haven't been easy on it.

Check http://www.forcedperformance.net/faq.asp

They make a good point that the head of the 4G63 really doesn't produce the necessary oil pressure at idle, sometimes even being below 5 psi. Check out the article. The only thing worse than too much oil pressure being sent to a turbo is not enough. :thumb:

I am the biggest moron. My first double post on a thread. :p Oh well, its a good link. :D
