Designed for the WRX, APS makes a massive porpose built street/autocross FMIC measuring 9.5" x 33.5" x 2.5" and 1.3psi pressure drop.

At a genuine 400 hp (298 kW), the APS D/R Series FMIC reduces the charge air temperature from 347 deg F to 104 deg F - an outstanding 243 deg F temperature reduction!

Also outstanding was the minimal pressure drop across the complete intercooler system. At 7,200 rpm and 400 hp, the pressure across the entire front mount intercooler system (not just the intercooler core) was an exceptional 1.3 psi.

Anybody know any info about this core itself, and if it will even fit in the front of a DSM without major changes/relocations?

Yeah thats a pretty big core. I dont think it would be worth it to fabricate cause you can find kits that will fit much easier and be a little more affective on a dsm. Unless you can find it for cheap and if it will fit then I would just go with a kit made for your car. Like with a Spearco core and then short routed piping. But if you want to use that then length wise it will probably fit. Height wise you are going to have to trim the bumper support a lot to get it to fit in nicely but it can be done. Hope this helps. I dont want to discourage you. It can be done and it looks like a nice core.

I will probibly not use it, I am just curious as to what anyone may know about this core...;)

The DR650 is the BIG one ;)

Yes, but the advatage to the DR500 is that its only 2.5" thick, allowing a good amount of air to the radiator for cooling. The DR650 is thicker (3.5" I think) and ment more for drag racing.

I figure when the time comes I may just go with a Griffin side To side flow intercooler (24"x10"x2.75"). How are they?
