hey everyone, been a long time since ive been on, and now rdy to start rebuilding my car slowy, but one big question sticks in my mind about a intercooler, has anyone tried using a intercooler from a rig??? my buddy got one needs end tanks but looks like it will work well, anyone try this b4? and do we still have some people in PA that work alot and knowledgable with em??? thanks guys

yeah,a few people have used truck IC's. as long as you have some decent endtaks welded on,you'll be good to go.

Well...depends on how big it is...there is a point where your IC becomes too big. For whatever turbo you are running. So yeh...turbo and intercooler go hand in hand. otherwise pressure drop will just be too much if say you matched a small 16g with a big rig intercooler with a core that was 28x14x3.5 which is a HUGE intercooler for our cars...im not even sure something that big would fit...but do you see how it is overkill for the turbo. Damn even my IC is overkill for my turbo.

i have a 20g for the time being but thinking im going with a FP green or the new FP series aint sure yet oh and thx for the complimate, oh and Im still looking for anyone in PA that has a good working knowledge of these cars, i know Highpsi is from reading but i think he got out of these cars a bit back

You also have the problem that those ICs are made to handle 30+ psi and a LOT of airflow, so they are likely inefficient in the range you will be running in.
