This winter I am planning on doing a semi built 6 bolt swap for my 95 FWD. Ive been doing some research and I am curious about the whole 2g piston 1g rod setup. What kind of performance gain would I expect to see with this? I already have the shortblock but I need to buy a head. I was looking at magnus's stage 2 head which comes mildley ported with stock valves and valve train. Really here what I am asking is if someone could help me come up with an engine combo that will get me to a low 12 second 1/4 at my elevation (4200). Im not even sure how big of a turbo I should look into because Im not sure about the internals yet. I know this is vauge but please I really need some help here. Should I spend the money and get forged internals or will the 1g/2g setup be enough? Thanks in advance:thumb:

700 for Wiseco's and Eagle rods. You'll thank yourself later when you go crazy and get that 50 trim you've been doodling about on your History notes book. Wait, thats me. :)
Anyway, go forged, its about the same price after you get the rods machined for the 2Gs anyway. Forged, forged, forged!!!

You can make the power and have the strength with 2g pistons and 1g big rods. If you want to be cool amongst your friends to say you have forged internals then go forged. Either or will net good power with good setup. I personally wanted to be cool amongst my friends!
 
What size turbo would be a good match for a 6 bolt with forged internalls and FWD? I plan on installing a LSD at the same time for the added power. Let me know your guys thoughts.
 
As far as power goes I would like to get in the mid 300 hp range. I know its hard to find a turbo based on 1/4 miles times so Im just throwing a number out there.
 
16g on a built 6 bolt? Thats halarious. I was thinking more along the lines of 50 trim or bigger, but Im not sure what size.
 
I just threw that number out there. Of course I want more but that was a total guesstament.
 
What I am planning on doing though is building this engine on the side, like a project. I have a 7 bolt still but it only has 5,000 miles on it. Im thinking about not dumping the money into my 2g and selling it then buying something thats easy on gas and such for a daily driver then building a real nice 2g.
 
So what combo should I go for with foreged internals? Ive heard people bag on JE but Ive heard nothing about the other companys, can someone help me out?
