I have a 97 GST. i'm looking for a 6 bolt motor to build up, just wondering if the N/A 6 bolt in the 1g's was the same as the Turbo 6 bolt. i know the pistons are higher compression, but that wouldn't matter because i would be redoing the internals anyways. what are the diffrences in these 2 motors.
thanks

So basically it's the exact same motor, and it would work the same as a turbo 6 bolt. same crank, and all that good stuff??

You forgot the oil squirters in the turbo block, the NA blocks don't have them and have to be machined to have them installed.

Just curious, what internals did you go with on you built 6 bolt? did you do all the work yourself??? i'm planning on making this my next project.

Oil squirters aren't necessary. I'm running 17psi on a 16G without them and my car loves the 'non squirter' atmosphere.

If I remember correctly, Magnus or Bushcur or some DSM tuner doesn't even put them into his cars when he rebuilds the blocks.
