I'm about to install a FMIC and it says the a/c fan will have to be replaced. can't I trim it to make it work? extend the pipe or something?

Thanks.

I installed my FMIC and was able to keep the a/c fan.

Wow someone realizes brand of FMIC might make a difference with respect to fitment! Its a Greddy big FMIC. I'm not saying its the best or anything, it just fits in pretty cleanly. I'd look around to see if anyone else made kits that had a decent core, and had short routed pipes.

Depending on what part of Cali you are in, you may find the car runs warm with an FMIC and A/C during the summer. Be prepared to purchase a bigger radiator, and some aftermarket fans.

Dude... you need to look around your engine bay before asking questions. If you had you would realize how absurd this question is. The FMIC doesn't go anywhere physically to require removing of any fans. The only reason you would remove it if something around the exhaust manifold, like a wastegate, was physically obstructing it (or too close causing the fan to melt).

this is directly off the site where he is getting his intercooler

Make room for the Lower IC pipe by replacing your AC cooling fan with this fan. It's 12"dia. x 2.44thk and rated at 880CFM

So yes you would have to move the AC fan because the lower intercooler pipe is routed in the location that the AC fan is!

FMIC Kit -2G DSM
Fits: Mitsu 14B, 16G, etc

That is for the mitsu 14b 16g etc!!!

there are a lot of kits on the market that let you keep your fan! Some dont like this one. Before you jump on the guys case about looking around his engine bay read a little more so you dont look ignorant

yeh...I had to remove both my fans....now I'm running off only one slimline. and I could put another slimline in place of the A/C fan...but right now it is not necessary since its coming for winter, its going to be cold, and I rarely use A/C anyway...also, I can still use A/C without that fan...but I can really only use it when its cold outside...or in other words, I can only use A/C when I don't need it.

good luck...let us know how it turns out.
