deck hone plate

I need one...my machinist doesnt have one/ wont buy one cuz mines the only 4g63 he'll probably ever do..does anyone have one i can maybe rent or buy or something?? i really dont want to get a new one since ill probably only use it once or twice....thanks

Goddamn it, when a machinist takes on a job, it's HIS responsiblity to have the tools to effing do it with. Wish I could help more than just bumping.

There are several companies that sell honing plates, BHJ comes to mind. The plate will cost you about $300 but is worth it if you ever plan on working with more than one engine.

If you can't find a plate, the guys over at SE.DSM.org will be renting a honing plate out for those in need (as soon as its completed, probably a month or so).

Otherwise, you may want to look for a new machinist or have the work sub-ed out.

I checked BHJ because I was just going to buy one but they are $400 from them...which is way too much for me since ill only use it once..maybe I can work out something with my machinist to go halves or something...still if you guys hear anything more please let me know
