I did that free mod where u remove the tiny restrictor from the boost solenoid and i can deffinitely tell a difference (I sound like a little kid but seriously I'm having fun working on my car). When i rev my engine the rpm's seem to go up faster...The only thing i wanna know is, is this safe? I'm stock except my Injen Intake. I was reading that it raises the boost level to almost 17. I know my turbo is only made for 15 tops but is this safe?
O yea, I also noticed my car would die if i gave it too much clutch and now the rpm's drop to virtually 1k but it doesn't "die"...

Any info. would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks

I did that mod to my car and was getting 14 psi with an open filter, uicp and 1g bov. I put a 3" catback on and started getting stupid high boost pressures. 22 psi spikes leveling of from 18 psi to 15 psi, (it would vary greatly from time to time) so what you heard is true, but only if you start doing other mods, like exhaust. Luckily, I was afraid of that happening, and already had a boost controller on the way before I did the exhaust, and had that on a couple days later, problem solved.

if you still have the stock 2g bov you're not getting anywhere over 13-14 psi. it won't hold it

I think it also works for 1g's but Im not sure. I'd just build a $10 mbc and not worry about it.

I think it's the same thing, but yeah, on the 1G's, in the Boost control solenoid, there's this little... sleeve inside one of the hose connectors, and you just pull it out with the super-cool paperclip mod :) hehe

supposedly gives an extra psi or so.

i did that mod too the other night. i just ogt bored and decided to do it. i noticed a different sound when the turbo started to spool up and i also noticed the car had some extra kick to it.

i tried to look at the rpms today when i went to work and when i was comin home......and i guess they do. ill go take a drive in a couple of minutes and check again. well i still have the factory boost gauge(which is pretty much useless) it seems to raise a lot quicker than it did before.
