hey guys what is up..im looking to buy a dsmlink after having my sixbolt swaped in my 95gst. The reason being that im having lots of problems at this point...shity idle, stalling at almost every shift, CEL while driving, and studering while on highway.
So my questions are (to those who have it)
Do i send my ECU to them?
Is it a CHIP or is the ECU reprogramed?
what about the labtop, i dont have one and i dont know what is needed and i dont have money for a labtop, is it necessary?
Or will simply istallling the ECU-dsmlink do the job of fixing my idle, studering and stalling as well as fuel managment?
Im thinking that this will be the magic pill that will make my car idle and run like my GS, is it?
i plan on leaving the car with the stock 450s, the T-25(i know but i like the power it gives) and run maybe the recomended 15psi, basically i want to be stock ..erghhh...sixbolt 95 GST with the t25 at 15 psi and later on full 3inch exhaust downpipe with the O2 dumped housing and call it a day
thanks guys thanks for the space

DSMLink is an eprom chip that goes in the ECU. If your ECU has not been socketed, you will need to get it socketed, so its easier for most people to send it to them, and have them socket the ECU, and install the chip. If your cousins brothers girlfriend knows a guy that is going to school to be an electronics tech who thinks he can socket the ECU, avoid this person at all costs. Socketing an ECU is easy if you know exactly how. But its also easy to ruin a perfectly good ECU. I've had to repair a few ECUs where halfwits tried to socket them.
You don't have to have a labtop. You don't even need a laptop. But if you don't have a laptop computer, you will need a Palm computer, or you will need to carry your desktop PC with you. You will need some way to communicate with the ECU. Its not a miracle chip that self tunes. It gives you the ability to tune. How well it gets tuned after that depends on you :thumb:

oh i see..but i was reading on their website about how if you loose power to the ecu (unpluged or dead batery) it will automatically reset to what it was primarily programed , dsmlink mode. that is to which ever injectors you bought it for.
im retarded when it comes to pcs i know nothing bout them or how they work all i know is how to use them.
so bout how much will this pocket pcs run for?
Can i hook it up to my home computer(i can probalbly move it to the garage momenteraly)?
cause i mean all that i would need it for would be to display the info such as fuel maps, idle control, cel's, to tune and what not, right?

i was thinking that it would have been programed to performed better that stcok(ecu), suth as higher idle speed than stock, and taking over the task of the IAC.
basically it serves as a brigde to tune the ecu..yes?
