I own a '96 GSX and have been having some engine problems lately. So i'm putting it into storage early. I plan on rebuilding the engine for reliability and being able to handle 20 psi. What parts and what should be done to my engine, so I can be able to do this. Everything and anything you guys can give me would be much appreciated.

If you really want a bulletproof motor. Drop in a rebuilt 6-bolt.

Do you know of any particular sites or companies where I could look into a rebuilt 6-bolt? Also, how does the tranny hold up?

Most people just buy a used one and have it rebuilt. if you want to buy a full motor look on RRE's site the have a list of where to buy a full JDM 6-bolt.

If all you want is 20PSI a stock engine will do. Just tune it up. Make sure it's clean. A short block type of rebuild kit to clean things is all you should need. If you think that you might want more later, then do a full rebuild. If your engine hasn't been driven hard, use it. If it has, tear it apart and inspect it first. Odds are it's fine. Mainly, it all boils down to will you leave it at 20psi or not.
