rebuilding motor need much advise

hello great people os the dsm community i have been reading and reading fourms on here and i still am confused on what parts to buy for my rebuild my car is a 93 talon n/t but the block is outa a 92 my plan as of now is to use wiseco pistons 9:1 compression and web cams but i have read good and bad about them so i need to know if they are any good and if the combo will work i have some bolt on's too pace setter,injen,cam gears, and ive got the head and intake ported my goal is to make a reasonably fast n/t talon on a low budget (currently unemployed) please help me before I going insane

Well in that case 9:1 compression will not cut it. Im gonna tell you, DSM's are not very light cars, and hoestly without forced induction the 4G63 really isnt going to propel a 2700lb + car very fast at all; even if your motor has a lot of work done to it... a stock 4G63T will probably still put down more than yoru built NT will.

Now im not trying to sway you otherwise, Im simply giving you a quick little fact to help you determine if thats what you really want. Granted some people do not know the potential of turbo's yet, and some bolt ons on their NT's will feel great for them. In the long run the car will just still be a slow little turd w/out forced induction IMO

thanks for stating the obvious but there is no way i can really afford to go the forced induction route because if i turbo my car im going to do it right and that cost way more then i have .... i dont care if i dont drive the fastest car ever i just want to smoke some of the lil p.o.s. stock rice rockets that think their body kit makes them the sh!t

that is all we have for so called modified cars around here and this car is for my senior project (im only a junior though)


all i want to know is how to make it better ....l im sorry i can not make a 8 second car running 30 lbs of boost and nos.. i do need to still drive it everyday and in the winter



so please just be nice and help a poor kid

forced induction is not that much money. Sell the car and buy a 1g turbo. Just got mine for 2000, my buddy got his laser awd for 2000, another buddy gotta tsi awd for 1600 and it took 100 bux to get running, and another buddy of mine got a gsx for 1300(but kinda had a hole in the piston). But u can easily sell your car and get a turbo 1g for cheap. If you don't care about awd, then u can find a fwd turbo 1g for cheap too, prolly a lil cheaper than an awd. Just a thought to consider i guess.
