Question for Kevin or Ben.. I was reading on DSMtalk the dyno #s you guys put out for the L3R but I was just curious if you have dynoed the L2R yet?? Youve got me really worried see'ing the power output of the L3R that my newly built engine isnt going to be enuf to handle the power of this turbo..

i spoke to sean on monday, and he dynoed his L3R at 478 hp to the wheelsOMG i dont know anyone with a L2R

Lets not go into those particular HP #'s. Those were off two cars that were sorting out issues. The L3R is good for a whole lot more power than that. As for not blowing up your motor, just keep the boost down and the tuning good. With the big rod motor and good tuning you should be able to run up to 28psi. Like it says on our site the L2R is good for about 550bhp, so about 500whp in a FWD. Not bad for a turbo that spools like a 20g.

So then Kevin do suggest a Big Rod motor for me too? I'm debating about forged internals or big rod motor.

I'm going to do a 6 bolt/big rod... possibly with 2g pistons if the timing is right.....

for the forged internal deal, that won't be happening unless the "dsm fairy" pays me a visit.

Kevin.... all this talk about ballbearing turbos, sheesh... and I'm happy with a turbo that hits full boost by 4k! Makes me wonder what I'm missing.....

Well If I have the money I may as well get forged internals. First I still need the block. :) Which should be here in 2 weeks. Then I just need someone to swap it out. OMG

sean said something was wrong, it should have made a TON more hp than that. but you know how the internet is, it would have turned into a suggestion that something was wrong with the turbo when that was not the case. i may have to get me a L2R;) anyone want a ETE32 with 10 miles on it:D

I could use a new paper weight... give ya $10 for it

I should have some street car numbers for the L3R in early september for you guys.

400-500? Hmmmm....

I may have to do the L3R eventually :D

Yes, I know a little more lag, but I can't let nick get too far ahead of me.

Speaking of which, check your PM's..... I have a project you might be interested in.

Nah, my turbo isn't BB.... it's a straight up T3/TO4E 57trim/stage 3 with .48 A/R

I'm happy with it for now.... It definatly has a 120+mph trap in it's future.... (119 on 2ghead/2g intake manifold -- no porting)
I'm curious to see how it does with a 6 bolt (I like my rods....) and a 1g head with 1g intake manifold.

After I feel I've maxed it out, I'll switch to something like the L3R, just garrett style though since I have all the stuff to make a garrett a bolt on at this point.

We will see what mine can do on a built 6-bolt at 2bar on 91oct/with propane. :D

Maybe after the 6-bolt is built I will see how much punshiment the stock 7-bolt will take before snapping a rod.

jeeze.. 500 at the wheels.. thats pretty sick.. Im hoping I didnt make the wrong decision in going with the 91/95 combo instead of forged internals

Larryd I have seen the Big rod 95 piston motor take 571 WHP before. I do not know how long the motor lasted, but it could handle the power.

Larry,
Question #1- Do you have a boost controler?
Question #2- Do you know how to use it?

With good tuning a big rod motor will take all the power the L2R can put out. BTW you get all the power a L2R will put out at 30psi. But if you want a little margine of safety, never run more than 26-28psi.

LArryd buy a bicycle or ride the bus.

Really though your motor should handle the abuse.
