Will this cause me to overheat?

I am planning on ordering a front mount very soon and am looking at the DSMparts intercooler. its 28"wide x 10.5"hi x 3"thk side to side flow core. because this is so big will it cause me to have overheating problems? should i definitly order a fluidyne radiator with the intercooler? And are there any other good intercoolers that will get me into the 11's and not cause any overheating prblems?

it probally wolnt make your car overheat to the point where anitfreeze/water starts boiling over, but it will raise your under hood temps, which will cause pressure drop and make you lose power
you should definitly get the fluydine radiator, if you dont your just wasting your time buying an intercooler

think of it like this, that IC is more then twice the size of your stock radiator, and will completly block nearly all airflow to it, this will cause your engine temps to raise, which will cause everything under your hood to be alot hotter
now lets think about your airflow, air goes through the IC and gets cooled down, then it hits your upper IC pipe, which would be hot to the touch from your engine temps being so high(your intake mani, and TB would probally be pretty hot too), and the air your IC just cooled down gets heated right back up before it hits your engine, this is pressure drop, and it will make u lose all the power u just gained from the front mount

actually we proved this by first hand expirance, i have 2 friends, both have 2g's with stock t25 turbos, both have intake, 3" turbo back, upper ic pipe, and both have greddy big fmic's, the fwd one has a fluydine radiator, the awd has a stock radiator
now heres the funny part, the fwd runs 18 psi and easliy beats the awd on 20 psi when they race(from a roll, awd launch makes for an unfair difference), my friend with the awd says he doesnt need a radiator, that his car doesnt overheat, but wonders why he caue pull a fwd on less boost with nearly the same exact set up
its because pressure drop is makjng his lose more power then he gained from the fmic

Wrong again, as the hot compressed air (from the turbo) passes through the intercooler The pressure drops. The better the intercooler design, the lower the pressure drop.

will you please stop posting false information:rolleyes:

20 psi on a t-25

That must be why Sheppard (sp?) is running 9's with a stock radiator.

You are comparing apples and oranges there. Sheps car is not really street driven. Yes it is a street car, but I do not think he take the kids to daycare in the car. (if so he has to change their diapers every 1320 feet) Shane I think is looking for a good intercooler that will do both jobs like cool the air charge and let enough flow to the Rad. so he will not over heat.
I am using a XS core( same as a Griffen core). I have two fans( pusher and puller) and a fluydine radiator also. My water temps never go above 196 degrees I have a 185 thermostat in the car also.

fwd's and awd's both have there pros and cons..that fwd of your friends had the pros in that race..your awd buddy had more drivetrain loss and more weight to add on to that compared to your buddies fwd..thats why real men race from a stop,or just at least the ones with awd..OMG
