I have a ported out 14b turbo with the boost turned up to 14 psi. When i floor it my boost gauge only reads 9 psi intill around 5,000 rpms it will shoot up to 14. At full throttle around 14 psi i hear a gun shot sound from the exhaust and then the accelearation cuts out. Anyone ever experience this before? Is their a mod i need that controls when the boost kicks in ? Thanks -

most likley an intake/ intercooler piping leak. try the tester, it really works!

If you hear your engine backfiring from your exhaust, then that is not a good sign. This probably means your cam timing is off and your igniting fuel before your valves fully close. You need to buy a timing light and check your cam timing. If you don't know how check out http://www.vfaq.com
Hopefully you weren't too far off time because that can totally destroy your valve train.

Could be wrong but thats what it sounds like to me.
