93 2.0 head on a 00 2.4 liter

Ok... My friend has a 2000 eclipse 4 cylinder...needless to say his old car was a 93 eclipse and he had a built head on it... now he has a built head from the 4g63 and i was wondering if it was a direct swap onto the new 2.4???? Lemme know!

highly doubt it will work. i think mitsu redesigned the 4 banger for 2000.

just a guess though. i dont actually have experience in this.

no 420a here.... its the 4g63 top end from a 93 eclipse... and just seeing if theres a way to put it on the 2000 4 cylinder 4g64.... which is single overhead cam no 420a here... y?

why the rolled eyes? i have friends with neons, civics, and a couple other cars that have converted them from SOHC to DOHC. Just the heads. most times the blockes are identical.

Yes, it can be done, and has been done. Mitsubishi made this entirely possible and easy when it released the 1994 Galant GS, which came stock with the 4G64 DOHC engine. You can use the stock bottom end, and bolt on a DOHC head, using some parts from the above mentioned 94 Galant, such as the timing belt and cam gears (or adjustable 4G63t cam gears).
