Converting a 14B to a 16G

Hey guys, I have a question, I have a blown 14B turbo and I have heard rumors that they can be converted to 16G's. Is this true? Don't beat me up too bad this is my first post

I don't think you can convert a 14b into a 16g(not that I'm aware).
But you can use the 14b turbine housing on the 16g, The 14B stock turbo and the 16G share the exact same turbine housing, except the 14b is a 6cm and the 16g has a 7cm turbine housing.

So, if you want to buy a 16g without the turbine housing, and use the 14b one, they are available, and you will probably save $100

im fairly sure u can convert a 14b to use a 16g wheel in the same manner that FP makes their sleeper 20g turbos out of a 16g
my friend looked into this about 6 months ago and he came up with a price of under 500 bucks with a good 14b core
although i dont remember where it was that did this conversion, and i dont think a blown 14b will be a good core, i guess it dependds on what exactly is wrong with it

WTF? If one is a 6 and one is a 7, how are they the same thing? They're not.

Most DSM shops can rebuild your 14b and also put a 16g compressor housing on it, but it's going to cost well over 300 bucks.

Call FP or SBR and ask about it.

OK...Here is the deal. The 14b and the 16g are both TD05Hs'. They share the same exaust housing which is 6cm...I believe that the BIG 16G uses the 7cm housing. There are several shops here in southern Cali that will hone out your 14B so a 16G turbine will fit. Not sure of the cost though.

that would be cool if you could do that i would save so much $$$
