By the end of this month I'll have about 800 dollars and I need to make a decision. Before upgrading my T-25 I decided I would need an exhaust to run a EVO 16G. I was going to buy the 3" o2 eliminator turbo-back but read that I would get boost creep with the T-25. What would you do. Buy the exhaust or buy the turbo and install kit?

If I bought the turbo I would just keep the boost around 12 or so and get an exhaust within like 2 months.

Is the RNR 3" O2 Eliminator turbo-back without a cat loud? Is there any difference with a hi-flow cat in place? I recently went through emissions so I dont have to worry about a cat right now but I dont want a loud exhaust. Anyone have any sounds clips? Thanks!

Get the 3" 02 elim turbo back with no cat. That will give you the most bang for your buck. Also

You won't get boost creep with the 3" 02 now because we are now using 2" dumpo tubes unlike before when we used 1 3/4" like before when people where having problems. We are having a big sale right now too.

If you're concerned about noise, go 2.5". The RnR 2.5" O2 Eliminator turboback without a cat is not loud, but definitely more noticeable than stock. Not droning at highway speeds at all-- very quiet then. And you'll have no noticeable performance difference between that and a 3" unless you're making serious HP, like over 350.

ok, it is physically impossible to creep a t25, anyone who told u that doesnt know what they are talking about.........u will hit at max 13ish psi by redline

Get the exhuast first. RnR is having an awesome sale on their AWD turbo-backs right now.

Looking at your mods list I don't see any UIP and BOV listed, I'm hoping you already have this. This would also need to be a priority in your upgrade path. If you do then a turboback exhaust definately, you'll feel more of a power difference with the turboback with the T25 than a 16G with stock exhaust.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going with the RNR as soon as my check gets here. I do have a HKS BOV(recirc.) but no UIP. By the time the exhaust gets here I should have my boost controller. Do I need a fuel pump to turn it up to 16psi? I always here put it at 16 max but I dont remember about the pump. Thanks! ;)

You'll probably only get about 15 psi out of the T25. I'm not sure about the fuel system on the 2g. I rewired my pump to ensure I could run 16 safely in my car.

yeh...just rewire your pump, its easy enough. But again a T25 doesn't hold boost, so even if you put it to 16psi it will just drop off. So rewire the pump to be safe and no you don't need a new one yet.

I would agree with what everyone is saying, if you had a 1G… But you do not! You have a terrible turbo! It should not be ran at boost levels any higher than 15-16psi (even at the low rpm level where it can make that much boost). To me, that is the next thing that needs to be “fixed” in a 2G after the BOV.

Look at it this way, many people have ran mid to low 13’s on stock exhaust, but almost no one has been able to do much better than high 13’s on a T25.

You can definitely extract MORE power from upgrading to a 16G, than from upgrading your exhaust! The most that you can get from a good exhaust on a T-25 would be around 20hp. It is not unreasonable to expect to gain extra 50hp @6000rpm with nothing but increasing the boost from 10-11psi (where T-25 drops to) to around 17psi (a safe range for stock fuel system with 16G).

But ideally, you would want to do both :).

wouldnt running a bigger turbo at higher boost levels cause problems with the stock restrictive exhaust. Couldn't it potentially harm the turbo? I would get exhaust first.

I do not believe this to be true…

Besides, you can do MUCH more damage to the T25 and then to the motor, running high boost on that turbo with an exhaust… And it is not even a very effective high boost, as you can only make at low to mid rpm range. So you would be destroying that turbo for very little return.

I will say it again, T25 is a nasty turbo… You might say who cares that it blows, but unlike Mitsu turbos, it likes to deposit its bearing in the engine when it blows.
