internal wastegate... Can u hear it?

can you hear an internal wastegate... b/c i downed my boost and now i hear my wastegate... i hope its my wastegate @ least... someone already told me its my wastegate... but just making sure.. any replies?

if you have a very very open exhaust you can hear a change in your exhaust note sometimes. BUT I doubt thats what your hearing if its obvious.

Your not hearing compressor surge and thinking it's your wastegate are you? A lot of times guys hear the cha cha cha sounds like pidgons and think thats the wastegate.

I could when I had my 16G. You just need to listen for it. The exhaust note changes.. Get an dump and you'll hear it then.

On my 14b with a 2.5" downpipe and 3" catback I could hear a slight change in the exhaust note when my wastegate opened. It sounded like an open dump tube only very muffled. You kinda have to listen for it and know what it is otherwise I dont think most people would hear it though.

i hear it with my t25. It sounds like the car is is growling at you and when the wastegate opens its barking. Thats a weird anology.
