I have a friend that just aquired a 6bolt engine. Right now he has a 93 Donor car. I have a 2g and really dont know to much about the 1gs. He wants to know if he can unbolt everything from the firewall on the 6bolt and put it in the 93 and plug everything back in. I told him i didnt think so because they are 2 different engines with diff cam angle sensors and throttle bodys and such. Can he do it? If not what does he need to make the swap work?

Also, what are the factory injectos rated at hp wise? He wants to build the engine to about 500 hp. I know the factory injectors wont go that high but just a rough estimate at what they are capable of.

Last but not least can he run a 255 without a regultor? I know the 2g's cant but if i recall the 1gs reg is alot stronger? Thanks for your guys help.

im pretty sure the crank angle sensor will be different on the 6 bolt, u will need a 6 bolt CAS to do the swap, pls a few other parts to make it work, its almost the same as swapping a 6bolt into a 2g, im sure u can find the info on that urself
as for stock injectors, 450s are good for about 250whp, which is about 300hp at the crank

i dont know if u can run a 255 pump with a stock FPR, but i would also like to know since i was planing on ordering a 255 for my car later this week, if i need an AFPR too ill probally wait and buy some other things instead, i was under the impression u dont need an AFPR because the cozmo pump(300+ lph) says it requires an AFPR to be used with it, iv looked at the 255 on several sites and none have said anything like that about the 255

the standard 255 pump will work on the stock FPR, the high pressure version will give you a rich condition.

Using basic calculations, a set of stock 450cc fuel injectors (@43psi) will be able to support 257 horsepower, this is assuming a brake specific fuel consumption of .6 and the injectors running at 90% duty cycle...

By increasing fuel pressure a bit and possibly running higher duty cycles, more power could be found, but not too much.

By increasing fuel pressure from 43.5 to 48 on stock 450cc injectors, you now have 472cc fuel injectors, which are now capable of 270 max horsepower.

Hope this helps.
