I am dropping the 1.8 and getting a 2.0 turbo put into my car. Before I drop it in, what mods do I need to reach 300 hp? I am a college student, so it cant hurt the funds too much

As soon as you see my writing, scroll up on your mouse and click the tuning guide. That will tell you how to get your 300hp. If you dont want to hurt your funds to much, you should consider selling the car and buying a turbo dsm...

I am getting a 2.0 turbo engine, did you not read that?

He did read that. Do you not understand that in the long run, you're going to spend more money trying to convert a 1.8 car into a turbo car
and have more hassle?

OK, since you're going to be rude about it to the people that are trying to help you, and you also obviously have no interest in doing your own research or spending cash, here's the deal:

1) Get all the free mods done short of swapping the T25 (or 14B, you never said which kind of turbo 2.0 motor you are getting)- and READ THE TUNER's GUIDE. Add a nitrous kit, and pray it lasts and doesn't blow up right off the bat.

2)Bite the big one, save some cash and get at least 16G, FMIC plus supporting mods.

Not that I expect you to do your mods- if you are so lazy that you can't even be bothered to read the already compiled tips guide that you have available here, I sure as sh@t don't expect you to break a sweat doing even the most basic of mods. You cheap out on your car, it will turn around and bite you in the @ss.

Cheap + lazy owner equals a slow POS DSM at best, or a sh@theap in your garage at worst. And for god's sake, just trade in the NA and buy a turbo model to mod.
Good luck.

No, i am sorry I sounded rude. But I am getting a 2.0 turbo including all the parts from a car that was totalled. The total price is only 800 dollars for everything. Also the car only cost me 2000 cause I bought it from my cousin. So when it is all said and done, i have only spent 2800 dollars and a lot of quality tech time so that I know all about my car. Not to mention my insurance agent won't know that I don't still have 92hp, and that will save me a lot of money too. Again, I apologize for being rude, I guess I didn't explain myself enough earlier. I don't want to be rude to any fellow dsmer.

It's cool, I'm known for having a bad temper. Got laid off yesterday, that ain't helping things either.

But really, spend the time and read the guides and do some searches on dsm.org. Trust me, the time and money saved (as well as the frustration you will avoid) by going in well informed are well worth your time. Good luck!

Yeah, I plan on doing this within the next couple weeks so I have been looking all kinds of things up. I was trying to get some people from cincidsm to help, but I still haven't seen any responses. Oh well. I will read up and try to tackle it. Does anybody know anyone who has done this before? If so, LET ME KNOW PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

It still would probably be to your benefit to consider selling yours and buying a turbo...I understand the insurance profit, but thats about all youll get. Every dsmer Ive een that wanted to do ths was convince and ended up selling there car and buying turbo model. I have seen turbo 1.8's and turbo rs ecliipses, but those cant go nearly as far as starting with a turbo dsm. I understand that it will cost 2800, but I would add a lot more on to that for ALL the little things in between that you WILL run into. It is very eay to obtain 300hp, so if you do do your swap good luck getting it...

plus if you look around you can find a 1g turbo for $2000 or less. Use dsmtrader.com and autotrader.com
