pull the entire bumper and be done with it, unless you Must have fog lights.

The passages on either side of the radiator have to be enlarged to allow the i/c piping to pass from the bay to the core.

Hold the I/C pipe up to the opening and open accordingly.

its not hard man, unless you did what i did and removed ur front bumper support for weight reduction factor, normally thats what people mount it too...then ud need a welder...i had to make some custom clamps on my VR4 and weld it to the frame...but it works, and its faster thats all that counts!! :)

Dude what type of crack are you smoking. The core bolts to the frame and latch support. The bumper is totally irrelevant to the core install. what type of fool welds an intercooler to the bumper support.

mock up the FMIC with the bumper off. sawz-all until satisfactory.

it's a process.

as for the bumper, measure how much needs to be taken out and usually a muffler shop with a torch will do it for around $50.

I think guys are getting the bumper and re-bar mixed up. THe re-bar is really what the bumper is and I think your thinking the bumper cover which is the painted part on the front of the car is the bumper. Thats just the cover, the re-bar is the bumper.

Regardless, you need to cut the re-bar/bumper to get the intercooler on. Look at the pic of my setup. I just had to cut the bottom out so the intercooler could go up inside. That part where the re-bar is located is covered by the bumper cover anyways so no point in cutting the front out. I had two tabs welded to the front of the intercooler sticking up and drilled holes int he re-bar and put screws through with washers on the inside to get the intercooler mounted exactly where I needed it to be. Then I just moved the vac canister stuff around a little to get the intercooler pipes through with no problems. The other side just hooked up to my existing upper intercooler pipe no problem once my stock intercooler was removed. Lots of room up on that side. (good spot to hide nitrous solenoids etc...)

Jim how exactly is the spray bar mounted to the core and is the NX kit;) if so what size bottle is it connected to.

I just used clear zip ties and it's connected to a 10lb bottle, yes it's an NX kit. If you get the really skinny but long guys they will fit right through the intercooler core and loop around through again so you can zip em on. My core is 3.5 inches so they needed to be 8" long to make the whole way around and have enough to grab onto. I put it like that so when the bumper is on the solenoid is inside the lower lip on my bumper and you only see the top part of the ring which you can see in my gallery.

You can see it but nobody really knows what it is. Some people ask me what it is but think it's part of the bumper or something like that.

Nice work i think that's how i will do mine. how are you triggering the sprayer. i envisioned maybe a rpm activated switch of some kind. maybe MSD or something like that.

DSMJim: Where did you get your kit if you don't mind? (How much?)
How long does the bottle last, depending on how often of usage?

Prostreet want a fortune for it.

Found a cheaper alternative heh.

http://www.intercoolertechniques.com/

"The HOBBS boost switch will allow you to turn on the intercooler sprayer system and forget about it. You can set the HOBBS switch at a desired PSI and the intercooler sprayer kit will automatically spray when the desired PSI is reached."

first off whoever said anything about "welding the fmic to the bumper support" JDMAWD?? what kinda crack am i smoking?? haha go back and read the post...i stated i "removed" the front bumper support for weight savings" the FMIC is now held on by two L brackets inside the front bumper...thats what is "WELDED" Calm down big boy Calm down!!!!

no part of any intercooler installation requires welding any part of the core to any part of the car

ok lets try this again, ill get specific, the brackets are welded to the FMIC in turn is bolted to the car...better MR.JDM???

The poster is asking about installing a buschur FMIC. His questions are based on installing that type of core whichWHICH ALREADY ####ING HAS THE BRACKETS WELDED TO THE CORE

If you don't have any experience installing anything similar to what his inquire is based on. Shut The #### up. he does not need to weld shit if he removes the bumper or anything else to mount his core.

Better MR.TSI
