Will the pistons in theN/T 4G63 stand up to boost. You see NO2 run on them & I was going to use a N/t 4G63 motor in my TSI.

Thank you for the info, the (squirters) from a good machine shop that builds a lot of these motors say that the squirters are not nessesary, but the pistons if you kept it tuned good should handle some but I didnt now how much. Which pistons would you sugguest. I thank the ross would be good but the wisco may also be worthy.I do want forged, why put pistons in and just have stock such as the 95 turbo mits pistons. You have to spend as much money for machine work that you could pay for forged pistons. I will post a what piston do you like best & see if anyone has run several brands to know this awnser.Originally posted by workin_on_it
they are higher compression and arent designed for boost.....but the can handle it if you supply good fuel and tune it right.....but don't got more than 8-10 pounds of boost, and make sure you have a data logger. if you ever want more boost with it, you will have to rebuild with better pistons designed for a boost application. also, the block does not have oil squirters. they squirt oil at the bottom of the pistons which helps in cooling the pistons....they aren't neccisary to run boos but they will help! if you plan on turning up the boost without a rebuild, try to find a turbo engine.
