I have a few questions concerning the 17C turbo(aka Frank Jr.). I compared the sizes of the compressor wheel vs. the big16G wheel and they are almost identical. There is the difference in the blade pattern of course since the 17C wheel looks just like a big 14B wheel. The thing is, performance wise, how good is a 17C turbo??? I don't see people using them that much. Will it outperform a 16G???? What about a big16G??? What about low end vs. top end power on the 17C????
Thanx a lot for any info.

I run a 19C ported and clipped. With the right supporting mods mine spools up and hits fulll boost by 3,800 - 4k rpm's. starts spooling around 2800 rpm. Its a great highway turbo while still being very streetable. The 17C is smaller than mine , and mine out performs the big 16G on the street all day long. What cm is the compressor and exhaust housing? And the 17C is a junior junior frank, cause mine, the 19C is the basic junior frank. Im guessing yours is pretty close to the 16G version.

Actually I'm building this turbo myself(I have a small turbo shop) to see how it goes. I'm using the compresor housing from a TD05-16G turbo, bored out to fit the 17C wheel, a TD05H turbine(haven't decided how many degrees to clip) and a 7cm exhaust housing(all ported out). I have the following supporting mods:
FMIC
3000 VR4 fuel pump (rewired)
3" exhaust(no cat)
2.5" downpipe
HKS filter
etc..etc..
What about lag, more or less than a big 16G with the 17C wheel????
