I want to do it but I don't understand something about it. If you plug the hole coming from the bottom of the bov and drill a hole to intersect the port, aren't you just putting it back like it was? It says to connect the new port to the turbo or IC piping. Isn't that where the hole was to start with? Please explain.

To answer your question no it is not the same as before. What you are doing is taking that hole that was originally hooked up to your UIP and blocking it. That hole leads up to the diaphragm were the pressure would equal the same as in your UIP. By drilling and intersecting hole you will now have the pressure in the diaphragm equal to ambient air pressure. What this means is before, by having it hooked up to the UIP it made the BOV open easier (slow release). By doing this mod it makes your BOV hold more boost. I did this mod and it works well. If you want your BOV back to stock u just attach the new port to your vacuum lines. U don't have to do this, I personally leave it unattached and its fine.

Give this mod a shot it doesn't take long but make sure u take ur time and check drill bit sizes before u use them. IF ur doing the dodge BOV mod alot of the sized of the bits are off so do some research first.

Good luck

OK, you said if you want the bov back to stock just hook up a vacumn line to the new port. So, in other words, it's kinda like I said. You are right back where you started from, right? If you leave it unhooked what are you accomplishing? I have already done the mod, I'm just waiting for the JB weld to cure so I guess I'll try it both ways and see what happens. I just wanted a better understanding of what this really does.

What you are doing with this mod is making your BOV hold boost better. The stock BOV is good up to 15psi after that it leaks a little bit causing a loss in Hp. To keep this from happening you what your BOV only to open at the disired psi, not before not after. This mod helps make your BOV hold more pressure, to answer your question.

Boosted98gsx i did this mod and my BOV went to shit after about 1k miles.

How did your BOV do that? I've had mine for about a month now and no problems. Explain your problem you had? Thanks

Yeah tell me what went wrong with your BOV? I did this mod over the winter and have had it on my car since March and I've never had a problem.

Make sure you clean the BOV out as much as you can after doing the mod so you don't end up with any metal chips making their way into the motor and run a bit down where you JB Welded to make sure that it didn't reclose the hole you just drilled.
