Greddy Type S-BOV?

I just bought the Greddy Type-S BOV and I cant figure out where to set the adjustment. It says that it is not supposed to make a spudder sound but wount it always make that sound if it is not at a full spool up or do I have it set wrong. It sounds fine at full spool up but if I shift before that it just kind of spudders out the valve. I only have a few mods done if anyone knows around where it should be set or if is always going to make that sound when it is not spooled up, please let me know. Some people told me to run it more on the soft side others told me more on the hard side. Please let me know what you guys think.

you want to loosen it a little bit, you want it to be tight enough to hold boost, but loose enough not to surge on part throttle, it may surge a little tiny bit at very low boost but thats ok, but at moderate throttle it shouldnt surge at all...or sputter as you said
