Need help with setup for AWD 2g wanting to run mid to low 13's

Alright, well I am in the process of sellin my GST, but the TSI AWD is on its way. only 39000 miles on it!! all stock!

So I am gonig to have some money left over. I want to run mid to low 13's, and have the least amount of problems with everything as possible.
I took a look over the tuning guide. What suggestions and what parts should I buy to do this, and still have a reliable car. Please list all parts, and price. And if I do need a bigger turbo, which one would probaly be best? list everything from gauges, to turbos. Thanks guys
 
I would start with the downpipe/cat-back , air filter, and get all of the basic work out of the way...(change plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc...) Then i would go for a bigger fuel pump (walbro 255, or supra tt pump) and bolt on a 16g. However, when doing the turbo, i would do it right and be sure to have a ported manifold, o2 sesnor housing, 34mm flapper, so on so forth. From there, go with some 550's, an AFC, and some sort of boost control....I ran well into the 13's with a pretty much identical setup. Of course, there are always more upgrades....intercoolers, piping kits, BOV's, etc.....it just depends on how much cash you have to spend. I ran 13.5 on a ported 14b setup. Get all the other stuff first to be able to support the turbo instead of having to upgrade around it. Check my profile and go from there. The only difference between the 14b setup to now is the 16g turbo that I have on it now. If you want to go with a reliable setup and low cost then this is the way to go.

I agree. Staggered upgrades are the best way to learn your car, and have it run reliably. I ran a 13.6 on a ported 14b as well. The turbo cost me $200.00, and I splurged on the full install kit. If you do it yourself, you're only talking about $500.00. Porting is easy, just make sure you do what I didn't and remove the divider between the wastegate outlet and the exhaust wheel. And read the VFAQ's.

Slow99x, did you notice much of a power difference going to the 16G? Do you have a big or small 16? How's the spool difference?

how much does it csot for everything with the 14B setup? And what kinda hp does this produce, and what is safe boost to run at? Did you buy your turbos used or new at that price? TIA
 
man i ran a 13.2 on my 1g with just exhaust, k&n, and race gas@ 22 psi. 2g's suck!!! haha j/k. listen to the guys with the 2g's as they can give you the best advice.
 
You can do it with this stuff or should be able too

16g or 14b ported w/ flapper mod
UICP
Supra sidemount
190 or greater fuel pump
1g bov
boost controller (17psi or so)
full exhuast

I ran a 13.72@98 with my mods i know its faster than that i had a 3/4 tank of gas, sub, and tools in the car and only a 1.900 60ft so i think with the set up i have mid 13's is easy hey im 1 tenth off.

Going to the track with race race and running just the downpipe tuesday ill let you know how that goes =D
