head exhaust ports

I ported the o2 housing last night and added a external dump to it. This morning I am finishing up porting the exhaust manifold and was wondering if it would be safe to go ahead and port the exhaust ports on the head? What would you guys use to keep the metal bits out of the engine? I am thinking of shoving rags into the ports.

Your mod lists says you're entire car is stock. Its safe to assume you will get zero performance gain by porting the exhaust side of your head.
