has anyone tried this fmic? Its the one where they weld together 2 stock sidemounts and place it in the front. It seems pretty nice for only $500. Im just wondering if anyone has seen this thing in action and how well it works. Im looking to hit low 13's to mid 12's on my big 16g, think this intercooler would be enough? I also love the fact that not only does this one cost less but you dont have to trim bumper or move anything... And you can use your current pipes (like my new sidemount blow thru UIP) Any comments are much appreciated! :thumb: :dsm:

Ya think? I was hoping the "two heads are better than one" theory was the case here. Any real reason why you think it wouldnt be as good? I emailed Dave from dejon and he said while he doesnt have any flow #s, the fmic should be capable of easily handling my big 16g at 12-13 sec passes, or around 400 hp... And that it will work with my existing IC pipes. Really if that is true it seems like a great deal, MUCH easier to install than a real fmic without all the relocation etc... and its a few hundred bucks cheaper too! If anyone has any real experience with this product please let me know, thanks!

Why would a supra SMIC be better?

2 stock SMIC's will flow very will, with half the restriction of one SMIC, and twice the surface area and mass for cooling. Plus, it will be mounted in front of the car for better airflow.

That said, keep in mind that you can get a good FMIC core for under 500 dollars, and piping is not very expensive to make.

With the goals you have now, you only need a SMIC. SMIC's can go mid 12's without too much trouble.

If you are sure that is as far as you want to go, this might be a good choice.
