Is Gulf oil ok to use?

My local shop stopped importing Pennzoil and is now selling Gulf oil. I have never heard anything about this brand and I am wondering if it would be ok to use it:rolleyes:

thanks for space!

Can't see why it would be terrible.

Go nose in on what the Porsche guys run. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us.

Gulf makes many different products, so some are better than others. If the oil is imported USDM, look for the API service code. It should be SAE SL. Oil formulated for the European market should be marked ACEA A5. Some may be dual marked (US & EU). See Gulf's site for info on their products:

If you really like oil :D see this site:

By the way - This is my first post ever! I just purchased a 1992 GSX. My daily driver is a VW Golf TDI. I hope we don't have "Oil Wars" here like they do over at Fred's TDI site.
