I've got a 14b from a friend and he mentioned i can pull his 1g TB and intake mani if need-be. I'm wondering if i will actually see a major difference in performance if i take the time to install and pull the whole mani, or if i will be ok with just taking out the TB and boring out mine. It just looks to be alot of work pulling out my intake manifold.

First, you have to make sure that it is 91-94 TB. Second, you can't just bolt on the 1G intake... The ports are much larger than 2G ports, so you will need to first do a LOT of porting on your ports. That is very difficult to do on the car.

That is why it is almost easier to just use a 1G head...

Well the only reason why I ask is because Roadrace has instructions on how to install a 60mm 91-94 TB (which it is) onto a 2G.

It looks alot easier then taking out my entire Intake Manifold, taking out HIS entire Intake Manifold, and doing the swap. If you say the ports are alot bigger then the 2g's, why do people even bother doing the swap without headwork? And I know i've seen more then 1 person with a 2G head and a 1G intake mani swapped in. From what your saying, it sounds like i'll just be taking the TB instead of the whole intake manifold....

ur better off just getting the TB, pulling the intake mani isnt that hard, but u will have to port the intake ports on ur head top match the runners on the 1g intake mani, this is not easy and if u dont know what ur doing u can mess ur head up, using the entire mani will give u a good ammount more power over just the TB but if u dont port the head intake ports to match u will probally lose power and\or throtle response
and if u know people with a 1g mani on a 2g chances are they did a mild port job on the intake ports to make them line up, if u just swap it on think of ur airflow like this, air flowing though a big pipe hitting a wall with a smaller hole in it, doesnt sound good for airflow does it?
from what u say it sounds like ur friend is parting out a 1g, if he is get the whole head get that and the intake mani from him and keep it at ur house, have lots opf poring and other head work done as funds allow and then when its ready swat the 1g head into ur car
