I have asked this in the newbs and prob/diag forums 3 times and have gotten no answers.... Are the ecu's out of an AWD auto and 5 speed the same? I have searched the vfaq and technomotive and have found no definate answer. Please help!!

I would think so unless there is a seperate computer for the auto trans to tell it at what (RPMs/ throttle location/position/ other factors) to shift at. Im not saying this as a definate it may be incorrect but at least Im trying. If I find anything definate Ill write back

They are not the same.I have both. It(auto ecu) would work in a 5spd but not well.Auto cars use 390cc injectors(i think) and 5spds use 450cc's and each ecu is tuned accordingly.<is that spelled right. If you have an auto and are upgrading to 5spd turbo, then use all the 5spd parts-ecu,injectors,and fuel pressure regulator.
