if thats the diameter of the piping.

cough*overkill!!!*cough

overkill for most, yea, yet a option for few. :thumbsup

as for the availiability, i wouldnt ask the question if it wasnt availiable;)

I haven't measured the diameter of mine. It IS an Apexi GT series exhaust for a 2G GSX, but I don't think its 3.74". It was one of the prototypes, I have had it for a while. Are the GT series available for sale now?

Anyhow, fitment wise its great. Sound wise it is good. Although with the silencer out, it will drone a little on the freeway(I have a RRE downpipe, and 3"cat) Its got a very nice deep tone to it. Although some people might think its a little loud. I've gotten 2 exhaust noise tickets with the silencer out, granted they were in an area where the cops are very prone to writing crap tickets like that.

With the silencer in, its very quiet, but kills power with any decent sized turbo. I wound up modifying the silencer with a larger diameter outlet so that it still quieted things down, but I could run good boost on it(20 PSI on the street with a 50 trim). Before I did the mod, boost was dropping off to 14 PSI, give or take. On a smaller turbo that doesnt flow as much, the boost probably wouldnt drop off nearly as much. When I pull the silencer out, I gain another 5-10% more airflow, so it is a minor restriction, but worth it in terms of how much more quiet it is. Of course, YMMV.

I made 711 at the wheel with a 3'' eshaust system. 3.75'' is overkill

My friend has a apex gt on his supra made the power was no different between the too.

brad, got any pics?

Not any good ones. Here is about all I have right now. I will try to get some more up there in the few days. I will have it on a lift tonight(hopefully), so I will take some pics, and also measure it with some calipers.

Its not a 3.75" pipe, I'm almost positive. But its the GT series for the eclipse.

actually, i just downloaded the 2003 apexi pdf catalog, and the gt spec isn't any bigger than the n1 according to apexi. anyone know if this is true?

haha, at some point in the near future i'm going very over kill. my tubular o2 housing is stepped 2.5-3" right now. when i redo things i'll be stepping the downpipe 3-3.5", the cat will be 4" along with the catback.

i have no reason other than to do something different. well i guess i want to get rid of the 3bolt flanges on the exhaust i have on there now and replace things with vband clamps, so thats 2 reasons.

brad: did i meet you at the apex test or did you get the prototype through other means? did you meet zion? :D just wondering...

couldnt make it the one weekend so i didnt get one, im curious where you are in socal...you should come video tape with us (me and socalieclipse) it would be fun.

I didnt meet anyone else there, other than Eric, one of the engineers there at the time. If there was a test or something where other DSMs showed up, I wasn't there for it. They used my car a couple of times. First to test fit the prototype system, and then to double check fitment again when the first batch of them came over. I have no idea who zion is? I thought that was just in the Matrix.

I am in the SGV. What sort of videotaping are you talking? If it involves naked chicks, count me in! I'm sure you are already aware of it, but theres a pretty big socal DSM mailing list, are you on that? They have meets from time to time around L.A.
