Differece Between 50 & 60 Trim On A T3/t4 Garrett??

i just want to know the differece between the two cause i wanna get one in and i just want to know which one will fit my needs to get the most out of my engine......free up dem horsies!
 
well obviously the major differences in those turbos are the compressor wheels.

the 60 trim is larger than the 50. If you want exact numbers I dont know them.

First of all, what are your goals? That will make it easier for us to provide you with information.

The 50 trim compressor, for those compressor map junkies out there, is rated at 49lbs/min while the 60 trim is rated at only 50lbs/min. But, the 60 trim is an off the shelf garrett unti so it is a bit less than the 50 trim setup, provided you are wanting the stage 3 turbine wheel. I've seen cars with either compressor run in the 10's.

Yes, what he said.

The more efficient islands on the 50 trim extend further than the 60 trim. Basically, the 50 trim is more efficient at the pressure ratios commonly used under daily driven (pump gas) circumstances, however the 60 trim flows a little more mass.

Also, if you "spool" a 60 trim to quickly in a tight housing, or use too small of a turbine wheel, it will surge.
