Im gonna use my 90 6 bolt block/crank for my 95 TSi. I have a set of 98 pistons that I want to use. I was gonna have the 1g "big rods" machined onto them, but have a new idea.

Will 95-99 7-bolt Eagle rods fit onto the 90 6 bolt crank? Because if they do couldnt I just put the 98 pistons right onto them and the rods right onto the 6 bolt crank and be done with it? The reason I ask is because I can get a set of eagle rods for ~$250.

This way would be cheaper and stronger than the 1g rods on 2g pistons.

Any input is appreciated.

Well they would not have to be machined to fit the 98 pistons obviusoly..but the other end of the rod that attaches to the crank is a different diameter by a alittle...thats why they sell these in the years they offer cuz they are different and will not work..so the answer is no is what I am getting to...so just get the big rods shot peened..
