how to determine if turbo bearings are bad..

i just changed my head, due to bad valve guides, thinking tghat my smoking problem would cease. well, the majority did, but now i get some smoke when i get into boost about4-5 psi and above. i'm sure i was getting it before too, but the valve guide smoke covered that up. does that mean my turbo bearings are going?

check to see where the oil is coming from.. in my case it was coming from the exhaust side of the turbo.. thats how I knew

I would guess that it is not the bearings but the piston rings (seals) that are in the turbo are shot!

No, he meant piston rings. There are piston rings in your turbo.

Usally start seeing blue smoke when you get on the gas, the boost blows the oil though the seals/rings whatever, but thats how you tell.

The seals REALLY look like piston rings.
