First off getting out my excuse book I wanted to say that no it really isn’t front wheel drive honest. This was my first pass of the season and my first pass with the new setup. It was HOT. The heat index was well over 100 degrees. I drove about 2hrs each way to the track. And lastly I can be honest and say that I’m pretty much untuned. Wes and I didn’t get to devote anywhere near enough time with the wideband to the WOT map with this turbo. We did some WOT tuning and some part throttle tuning under 50mph but never a steady state 70mph highway tune I think my plugs were just the slightest bit fouled from the drive over. When I took off I bogged really bad. The a/f ratio at WOT is a very fat 11:5:1 – 11:8:1. I am thinking that if I can ever find my way out to BM Tranny I should be able to really prefect that.

The run was made at 21lbs of boost at around 18 degrees of timing on the Haltech on connivance store 93 octane. The car has leather seats stereo etc the only thing that is removed is the AC that didn’t work. I would guess that car weight to be around 3100lbs and the driver depending on what’s for lunch weighs in at about 280 bringing the total WAY too close to 3300-3400lbs.

There is nowhere to go but down with the ETs. Honestly I usually don’t suck this bad. I was cutting 1.7s most of last season on my 4 Kuhmo 712s on 17in rims. I think that just maybe they aren’t going to be sufficient for getting this car down the track with as much power as its making now.

Putting on my benchracer hat I think if I could have a run with fresh plugs and come off the line without bogging on a 70 degree day with a big more tuning I could very well be mid to low 11s around 128-130 on pump gas which is ####ing sick if you ask me.

I have to say that the 4g64 is pretty much the ultimate when it comes to street/strip duty. I can’t believe Marco can keep these in stock. Even though I have the normal boring 64 and not the ultra pimp long rod 64. I’m seeing 30lbs of boost on my big ass turbo at 3900-4100. All this torque is addicting. I have some torque steer/wheelspin issues at the top of 3rd. At the track I was rocking side to side through the traps.

I use to have a BR57 on the car 60-1 stage 3 .82ar. It was a big laggy with the 5 bolt .82 ar PTE housing on there on the 2L but it worked great on the 2.4L. I switched to an AGP 56 trim Gt40 T350 same .82ar exhaust housing. When the BR57 turbo died. Apparently turbos don’t like have bearings go through them go fig. The car made about 10% more hp with about 4lbs less boost on pump gas with the AGP setup.

The really scary thing is that if this car is doing 126 on pump gas at 21lbs what the hell is it going to do at 32lbs on c16? If anyone out there is still on the fence about what turbo to get this GT40 compressor rocks. Mate it to as big of a turbine housing as you can tolerate ( I suggest going t3/t4) and have fun.

Big thanks to Wes Hess. He put the whole car together for me. His advice and help has been indispensable. I tried to listen to him whenever I can and it served me well. What’s even best is that it really didn’t cost me and arm and a leg.

Magnus 4g64 9:1 CR
AGP 56triim
Turbonetics manifold (still hasn’t cracked)
960cc RC injectors
Haltech Ek6
Spearco 216 core with Tial BOV
BJ stage 2 head
HKS 272s
Venom intake manifold with stock tb
Hess Racing tranny

I’m sure I may have forgotten something but that is all the big stuff. Don’t be too hard on me guys.
 
Impressive #'s! Now turn it up and see what it runs at boost levels where it's supposed to be! Where did you buy the stroker kit from?

2 things. 1 its not a stroker kit its an entire engine 4g64 everything. 2 In my mods list you can see Magnus 4g64 so you can contact Marco in the great white north and he will be more than happy to hook you up.

I am just some guy that is lucky enough to know Wes. My car will do a 130 on pump gas and his car does a 11.1@133 at only 22lbs of boost and 10.5@138 at 26lbs. Why he doesnt get more work I dont know.
 
When I first read the title and the author being "rdrkt," I thought "this is going to be good."

But damn, I had no idea :laugh: :p

now just get her tuned till you cant anymore, pour in some C16, and up the boost a whole lot......lets see what happens :thumb:

The car is actually pretty damn scary. I have had it together for awhile but I didn’t say anything because I didn’t think anyone would really believe me without numbers to go along with it. I

f the car is this fast on pump gas at 21lbs with only 18 degrees timing. This turbo is efficent to 35lbs whereas the 60-1 was only good till about 28lbs. think about how crazy it will be at 32lbs with like 23 degrees on a cool night with clean plugs. Fuggetaboutit

Who did all the numbers crunching, had a 2 hour AIM conversation about inducer/exducer sizes BEING IDEAL????And who convinced you of getting the the 56rtrim in the first place? Like what? I cant imagine you would want too much more out of a street/strip car. 130 traps on pump gas at 21lbs with ideal conditions, potentially 137+ traps on c16 and big boost, all the while getting full boost by 4k.
 
Those are some good numbers.

BUT you've got a 2.4L engine stop playing around with these small turbos go out and get yourself a full t4. I'm thinking like T61 or T64. Anyway, still a helluva good effort.

Thanks man I appreciate that. But I don’t think you understand what I have. The Gt40 compressor with the T350 turbine wheel and .82 ar exhaust housing dwarfs the T61.

Nick stop talking about doing things to my ass man seriously. Your girlfriend might be reading these posts.

As for no love to the bolt on guys. If some guy came onto the forums and said he wanted to get a Garrett t3/t4 with a .48 housing we would all call him an idiot right? But a bolt on turbo that you need to get all new lines for pancake your waterpipe for etc that has a similar sized turbine housing makes sense? bah
