Which one is better? Price are the same. All want to know is which one will give me better horsepower and less heat soak.

My motor will be fully and the head will be ported. :D

Well I see you have a "s" trim 60-1 nd want fuly done up head, I think teh Magnus will suit you better.

the forrest manifold benefits your lower end better than the magnus. with the magnus you will take a little longer to spool (if I remember right someone said ~300rpm's longer to spool with the 2g magnus)

How I ment for it to say it :thumb:.

the forrest manifold will show little negitive effects to the low end, just benefit your top end.

The Magnus will get you hot track sluts, guaranteed. They are the most beautiful thing under most people's hoods.

I know probably should've been the section But you guys (type on a ambien ids pretty coll) seems to know a lot so her it is.
I am about to install a cyclone manny.........comment?

When I installed my magnus I noticed I lost about 2-300 rpms on spool up. The pull in the mid range and on top is well worth the added lag. It also has a cool whistle once the turbo spools. I guess its the sound of the velocity stack's.

I don't know how much low end grunt people need to just piss around town from stop light to stop light. I have not noticed any substantial loss in drivability with the intake or large cams.

Does anyone know if the piping that comes with the IRC Race Core will work with either of these manifolds? Id like to get one soon and didnt know if Im going to have to get some new piping or not.

I had to cut about a 3" section out of the upper intercooler pipe. the magnus intake sits the throttle body much lower. you will also need to move the battery or get a slim batt with the magnus.

I am not sure that there has been anyone who has tried both manifold to give you an answer that you are looking for… The only tests that I have seen were comparing brand-x manifold to a stock unit. Which does not give you very good data to compare brand-x to brand-y.

Personally, I went with Venom because it had the best fit for my 1 piece I/C pipe.

Somebody actually on the sister forum "dsmtalk" tested both back to back. No dyno to actually prove anything, but his butt dyno said that he felt the forrester pulling slightly harder.

I am in the same delimma right now, I cant pick one. I would like the forrester if it didnt have the prints on it, wouldnt look to catchy and a lot of none dsm owners will think its stock.

I've had both in my possession, and stuck with the Forrester. I have a super trick Forrester 1G Race head, so that was part of the equation.

Magnus is nice and light. Definate plus.

Forrester is a VERY nice piece, and since it's cast, there are no differences in assembly, welds, etc.

Forrester is dyno'd to not lose ANY midrange or low end. The dyno sheets are out there showing this. I won't be your guinea pig and find them though :). I don't think any of these manifolds actually LOSE power ANYWHERE, but the added top end makes them feel like they do.

There is data out there comparing manifolds. :thumb:

In the end, the choice is yours. Neither of the two will make much more/less than the other one. You should go with the one you are comfortable with.

I also am running a Magnus Intake. I have notices no I mean no spool up lag in mine. The boost hits at the same time as before. I even took some timing out down low and I still spooled the turbo up at the same RPM. But I am running a 3040 dual ball bearing turbo. The topend is Wicked, before mine would not pull real hard above 6000 RPM now it pulls like a mad man to 8500 RPM. For the battery issues I took out my batt. tray and mounted it on the frame rail via a shimmed plate. The throttle body goes right over it.

i bought the frh intake. fits awsome, looks awsome, and is a fair price. it comes with all harware to install and also uses the fiberglass intake spacer that is bound to keep some heat away. the only drawback is that it hits the timing belt tensioner tool. so when doing a timing belt or related job you have to pull the frh intake maniflod. when i have to pull it again i will get an inch hacked off the end and welded all the way around. the only reason he made it in two pieces is because its easier to cast and if you had a rwd you could flip it around.

the reason i bought this manifold is looking at the dyno sheets supplied by dale, it showed that it kept the low end torque curve like a stock manifold, and when the stock manifold let go the frh stayed climbing.

with my but in my seat i could notice the difference right away! i run a 60-1 garrett and seems to spool quicker then when i had the stock intake manifold. the top end pulls real hard but i also have 272's.
