I wanna do a swap cause my engine in my 97 eclipse gsx got crank walk a couple of weeks ago.
i wanna know if theres a good engine that mitsubishi has that won't crank walk?

i've heard alot about the evo engines too are they possible to swap?
and are they gonna be safe from crank walk?
if not since if i swap a 6 bolt into my eclipse its just gonna crankwalk sooner or later should i just rebuild my 7 bolt or swap a 6 bolt?

I would highly suggest you dont rebuild the 7 bolt. It is very rarely done with any success. At the very least swap a known good 7 bolt in, but understand the same thing can happen. Preferably you will swap in a 6 bolt, but not everyone has the know how, or the cash to have it done even if they can find someone that does know how, and there are some special considerations to take into account with the conversion. I'm surprised no ne asked this, but are you sure it CWed? I only ask becuase I have seen more than my fair share of people diagnose a collapsed HLA, or some other simple problem, as CW ;) What is the thrust play if you measured it, or was the crank angle sensor pickup broken? Etc.

what about the evo 8 engine will that fit in my gsx?
Or will it fit in a Gs since the motors are turned the same way?

well any motor can crack walk. its due to thrust bearing failure or excessive play in the crank. seen 2JZ-GTE (supra twin turbo motor) crank walk. mistubishi had a manufacturing error on the bearings on early 2g motors. supposedly fixed the problem in 98. EVO8 motor wont fit. sits on the other side of the engine bay and spins the turbo another way. best bet is a 1g 6 bolt in your 2g. a 1g AWD will not work with your 2g you have 3 tranny mounts 1 engine mounts as 1g's have 3 engine mounts 1 tranny mount. hope this helps answear a few of your questions. engines range from 1100-1500 with warranties from good jdm importers.

also swapping in the 6 bolt means you get a bigger stock turbo bigger ports on the head, bigger intake manifold, and a kick ass motor that puts 2g motors to shame :)

Thanks for reply
I heard that u can put a k20a2 found in an rsx-s into an dsm is this true?
if so is that motor better than a 4g63t? i seen some k20a2 pushing over 30 psi

LOL, OMFG, Go away!

Dude you can put any engine in any car, its just a matter of money. Ive seen a RX-7 with a 2JZ swap, and thats a totally different motor (rotary to piston engine). Like everyone in here has said, a 6 bolt will be the best thing you can swap. Listen to these people, there not all dumb.

Holy crap you are an idiot.

Bring your car to a shop, write them a check, and tell them to fix it.

I almost felt like explaining everything to you, again, but then I realized that you obviously have not listened to a thing these guys have said, and thus you will probably not listen to me.

Do a search on this site for "crankwalk" and read up.
