ok so my turbo took a crap on me, well the oil seals did, so i find myself looking for a new turbo, im thinking BIG 16g its on a 90Tsi with 2 1/2 catback, intake boost guage no fuel mods yet, but soon to do pump rewire. mbc at 14psi. sooo what do u guys think im lookin to take it to the track soon and i wanna run a mid-high 12 so lemme know...

The 16g is good choice and running 12's with one is common, but it will take more than a fuel pump re-wire and more than 14lbs to get there. Also get a DP and high flow cat or test pipe.
 
You'll need at least 110 octane gas, 20-22 psi, a upgraded fuel pump thats rewired, and better IC piping. And Slicks.
 
for right now a 16g will work. its a good building block for future mods.

you need a new turbo, why not do it big?
 
You'd need 255lph pump, hard UICP and some type of fuel control, plus what you already have and the DP/test pipe. And since you're doing the turbo you might as well do an Evo or 2gen exh mani and O2 housing (both ported). There is no reason you couldnt get into the 12's with your stock BOV and injectors. Im not sure why ItsStockOfficer would say you need slicks. AWDs dont normally need slicks to break into the 12's.

So the list would read:

Big 16G (ported/clipped?)
Ported 2gen exhaust mani and O2
2.5" turboback w/test pipe
re-wired 255
AFC or whatever fuel control
hard UICP
MBC
and all free mods (I assume)

Turn the boost up within reason, put some race gas in it.
This set up with a good driver would go 12's assuming your car is running correctly and you're not racing in the Rockies

For some reason i thought he was FWD, My bad. Skip the 2g mani, I went 11's on a 1g mani. Ported they flow the same and the better geometry of a 2g mani is a joke.
 
why is a uicp such a big deal eveyone recomends getting one? does it just flow like crap too small what? im hittint he junk yard today, and ill post my race times on the 16th.

Don't rewire the pump. Waste of money.
Nothing like having a relay go out while driving down the freeway.

The pump on the factory wireing will flow more than these motors could ever swallow. The stock fuel line from the rail to the fuel filter is a different story.

Some people have found the stock fuel pump, upgraded line, and 660's to work very well together.
