Since I installed my MBC and boost gauge it reads 18 to 19 psi on the new boost gauge and 13 to 14 psi on the stock, when the stock gauge is at 5 psi the aftermarket reads zero. I have my MBC turned down alll the way, it does not seem to make a difference if it is turned up or down, it just makes tons of boost, is there any way I can get my boost down to a useable 16 or 17? or is 18 or 19 where I should be? It seems like I am loosing power(not makeing power) after 17 psi. My 90'GST manual has free mods and a K&N filter, the rest is stock.

Well, assuming you pulled a source of manifold vacuum/pressure, I would believe your boost gauge. The one on your dash is an electronic "guess" of what your manifold pressure is.

My guess is you have your MBC hooked up incorrectly. Better check it out--19 psi is too much on factory fuel system.

19psi on pump gas is a bit much.

What mods do you have?

You probably feel like you are losing power because the car is pulling back timing like crazy.

My 14b loved race gas and 23 psi. Anyways, yeah with stock fuel system and 19 psi you are going to have problems. Not to mention I would not run the 14b that high, it's past it's efficiency and you are just creating alot more very hot air. Stick with about 14 psi on your stock fuel system. Get a re-wired Walbro 190 and turn it up to 16 psi. If you want more boost go for a bigger turbo.

Thanks for the input, I guess I should buy a different MBC, the one I have now just allows to much boost even turned all the way down. I bought it off ebay, it is a home-made style. Can I turn down my boost by the waste gate spring? I have a stock waste gate set up. Also I do have my gauge pluged into the intake manifold.

your stock boost gauge guesses from the amount of air that the MAS reads, its completly inaccurate.
