Which garret turbo is good for a 2g??

ok we 2g people are cursed of not having a stock original mitsubishi turbo, and we got the garret for that we pay extra $290 for a installation kit in a 16g or whatever turbo. but what about the garret turbos the
Garrets T3, T4 turbos i hear they are weak?? But will they fit in a 2g with no kit necessary?


I DONT wanna expend almost $300 on a kit!!
i can buy me a stage 2 clutch on ebay with that money!!!

Who told you this? T4/T3 combo and T4 turbos work pretty well on DSM's when sized right or the right mods are in place. All turbo's will need something modified to bolt onto a 2nd gen car.

Then don't, search the many DSM sites and see what parts you need and build a kit yourself. It isn't rocket sceince and you aren't the first one to upgrade a turbo on these cars.

i can buy me a stage 2 clutch on ebay with that money!!!

Or you can get another $100 together and buy a ACT 2600/street disk combo and get more use out of it.

Weak? I hope not... I have a T3/To4e (got from AGP) (57 Trim/Stage 3... .48 AR for the record)...... Ran a 12.0 at 119 w/o even maxing out the turbo... still on a 2g motor (2g head with 2g intake manifold, unported).....

Turbo pulls HARD, and I know there is even more power left in it, I"m a garrett fan -- which is probably why I spent the money to get the South Florida Preformance manifold........ might as well do it right :)
(I do NOT reccomend the turbonetics manifold..... unless you get one for a VERY good price)
