While doing some racing down in newark, De. i blew my clutch, i pretty set on get the ACT 2600 which seems to be the favorite. Anybody in my area do clutch installs. LarryD who did yours?

only a 1st gen person would say that.. taking the tranny out of a 1st gen is ALOT easier then a 2nd gen.. though it can be done pretty quickly if you know what yer doing.. Im actually did my clutch myself with my friends.. we went with an Act 2100.. the 2600 just seems like overkill for FWD thats hoping to not have crankwalk

Really the 2100. How long have you had it now. I thought that was out of the question for me cause i've read countless thread on how the don't stand many launches and don't last very long. But you have me thinking about getting the 2100. I've been thinking on doing the install myself since i don't really have the 2-3 hundred the mechanics charge to install it. Do you think it's possible with a 2G manual, i've never done a clutch install before.

The 2100 in a FWD will also make a decent slip spot so you don't kill the tranny. The clutch can slip if the tires won't so the tranny isn't overloaded. My friend with a 1g did that on purpose after seeing me blow two trannys.

Well, its not like you going to be doing 6k launches. I've always heard around 3500 or so for a fwd car. I am going with the 2100 also on my car after I get the Green in a few weeks.

ofcourse the 2600 will hold up longer but it will also put more stress on everything else.. I havent even got a chance with my 2100 yet though. cars been down the whole time since I put it in
