i found a 1991 eclipse gsx for 800$, it has a blown head gasket and a mitsu mechanic looked at it and concluded he MIGHT have two burnt valves. also it need a battery and plugs, which means absoulutely nuttin to me, but is the car worth the money, or is their a major risk of more trouble than a head gasket and 2 valves? also is it hard to install new valves?

$800 isnt crap. If you have the money and are that worried about the motor just buy a new one. Then you know stuff is good and if you can install it yourself or know a good mechanic who can then thats even better. Just a thought though...

Buy the car for $800, by a metal Mistu head gasket, have a profesional check out the shortblock, by a rebuilt head online from a reputable company for about $300, get a battery, do a tune up and then drive it! Your probobaly looking at 1500-2000 which is a good price for AWD tagged on the road. Just look into it thouroughly.
