I just got my exhaust done today. I bought a 3" N1 sytle muffler off ebay, and a 3" cat. I got 3" pressbent pipe (no one in my area does mandrel) bent and everything installed. I had him keep the bends to a minimum to maximize flow and minimize the effects of the crush bends. Theres only three bends all of which are 30 to 45 degrees, probably closer to 30 but I didn't measure so I'm giving some leeway. The mods I had previously done are K&N filter, ported 16g, ported evo manifold, walbro 255, and 15psi of boost.

The exhaust was alot quieter than I expected, which I like. The turbo spools a couple of hundred rpm's quicker, but I was expecting more because of going from stock exhaust to 3". Throddle respone is a little better, there is a noticable difference in the middle of the power band, but also much lower than I was expecting. It doesn't feel any different at the top of the power band.

Seems like I still have a restriction some where. Is the stock downpipe going to make this much restriction? I always thought the downpipe was the least restrictive peace of the stock system. Could I already be making enough power to have maxed out the stock maf and air box? I know it sucks (or more accuratly doesn't suck) but I thought it would flow more than this. Any one have any thougts?

So out of the stock MAF sensor and the downpipe which is the most restrictive? I was going to order the Ramchargers translator next Friday when I get paid. But now I'm wondering if I should get a downpipe instead. So out of GM MAF and new downpipe, which will be the most benificial?

probably a dp, but I don't know much about the gm maf. So I would suggest getting some more opinions, prbobably from wisemen.

Thanks, so if any wisemen read this it would be great to hear from you on this issue.
