Boise,
Does anyone ever do the prothane motor mounts in an AWD?

Sounds alot like a major wheel hop fix.

I don't wheel hop too much in my AWD, once in a while I lite all of em up:)

What do you guys think?

they will shake your car like crazy. if you drive it on a daily basis, i would not do it.

I just put them on my car last week, they make the car feel so much better i.e. less rocking of the motor between on throttle and off throttle. I personally don't mind the added vibration and in my opinion would recommend them, especially with the list of mods you have. However, I will warn you that they are alot of work to put in. If you decide to get them, good luck!:thumb:

I gottem and I don't mind the vibration so much, people think my car is fallin apart somtimes but I just laugh at them.

If you get a little crazy somtimes and like to do AWD burnouts like I do, they are a must if you want your transmission to last longer than it normally would. I only have motor mounts to combat wheel hop, if you got upper strut bars and lower sway bars you're golden.

Are you guys using the RRE ones? Also my car is a 2G instead of a 1G. I don't know if it matters but the 1G has 3 motor mounts and one tranny mount. The 2G has three tranny mounts and one motor mount.

Maybe I'll just try inserts, the motor is out of the car and I notice the motor likes to move a lot. Inserts would probably be less severe also.

Anybody try the RRE window weld for motor mounts?

I used the prothane inserts for the front and rear mount. It vibrates the steering wheel a little but I don't mind it. It keeps the motor from moving that intern puts more torque to the wheels. I recomend it.

Thanks, I'll probably give it a whirl... assuming I can find some window weld.

Thanks for the replys.

I got the Prothane KIT on my 1G AWD and I like it alot. The car runs better overall and it doesnt vibrate like crazy.. but i havent put on the rear mount yet. so.

I used window bond or what ever in my 1 engine mount and the top trannie mount I put the inserts in the other ones (front of trans and back of trans. I have no engine flex at all. I also have no wheel hope either. I do have 2 front strut tower bar, and 1 rear one.
