Cutouts have been popular with the domestic guys for years now. They're pretty sweet

There's a lot cheaper ways to do this. 499 is pretty expensive. Buy the electronic butterfly plate http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/order.htm. Then buy a cutout http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM-G4822. Then all you have to do is take the cutout to get welded in.

A very interesting idea. I wonder what would happen here in California with a visual smog inspection? I suppose you could argue that yes, you do use the bypass but only off-road (which is legal).

I think as long as they didn't catch you with the cutout open, they couldn't really do anything... unless that counts as tampering with emissions equipment...? Eh, glad I don't live in California

I don't know about CA, but in MA having a cutout will fail you.
