k.. i wanna sell my talon esi and buy a tsi.. exact same year exact same everything cuz i am totally in love with this car.. but this is what i want to know.. i am lookin at a 93 tsi with 145,000 km's on it.. somewhere around 70,000 miles i think that would be.. i dunno not sure with the conversion is. but what i want to know is when do the turbo's usually go.. he said he has never changed it and it's still fine.. but i don't wanna sell my car and in 2 months i have to get a new turbo.. cuz that will suck!! ne one have an opinion or any experiences with this?

yes.... but ummm see how the turbo sounds while spooling and check for rust and get a mech. friend to check it out. 4 eyes are always better than 2

the milage is almost 90,000 miles. 5 kilometers = 3.1 miles. I used to run cross country so know. so (145000/5)x3.1 is 89900.

how about the boost? where should the boost be at with what rpms see i have no idea.. but i will keep my eye on the boost guage

The boost should come in around 3-3500 rpm. Don't trust the gauge too much, also listen for the turbo spooling up and you should be able to feel the power come in.

The TT is no big deal, it doesn't mean there will be damage.

Even if the turbo is not 100%, to me it would be no big deal if i was getting the car i wanted. You will probably replace the turbo with a bigger one fairly soon anyway.

çI am not sure how this works in the US and Canada, but in Europe even if you buy a used car you can get a warranty on it. Sometimes the dealer selling it will put their own one on for 6 months or one year. There are also independant companies that you can buy one from. Over here they cost around $100-$150 dependiong on the car. Again, I don't know how it works over there but it might be worth the question.

My 93 has 153,000 and still pulls 12 lbs at wot. I do not know if the turbo was changed before I bought it, but everything else on the car was original.
