Id try Turbonetics or somewhere of that sort. Im pretty sure after you get a new one your going to have to take it somewhere and have it all balanced.

I called turbonetics they quoted me 150.00 for just a new wheel. Then I called "Slow Boy Racing" in PA and he told me that its about 100.00 for the wheel and if I want to chance it, I wont need to get it balanced

I did a compressor wheel swap on a 14B that eat something too. It needs to be valanced. I tried to get it as close as possible by eye. But it only lasted a few days before the bearings went all to hell. From my experience I think it needs to be valanced.

I just rebuilt two turbos today with damaged compressor wheels, a 16G and a 20G. A common occurrence when you have foreign object damage on the cw is that the turbine shaft bends. FWIW, both of these turbos today had bent shafts. I honestly don't know how anyone can tell you that you don't need to balance the assembly when you change wheels. Send it to a qualified turbo shop

i would highly suggest that any part that's going to be spinning at close to 100K RPM be balanced :)

Dont get my wrong, he did recommend it. But I was just gonna chance it. But after you guys stories. I think I might just send it out

I think that's just Mike trying not to argue with the customer; I can't imagine anyone that knows jack about turbos suggesting that you wouldn't need to balance the assembly after swapping in a new wheel...
