Any problem with running HKS 264 Intake cam and Stock Turbo exhaust cam?

In my 92 NT Talon I am currecntly running a set of turbo cams. My top end still dies off although not as much as with stock NT cams. past 5500 it feels like my car is just starving. It feels like it's exhaling much more than it's inhaling, especially after doing full exhaust.

I plan on getting both cams, but for the time being would there be a problem with running just the 264 intake cam with the turbo exhaust cam? I was going to go ahead and order both, but then decided to get some Eibach Pro Kit springs and then just the Intake cam since it would cost about the same. However I wanted to see if there would be a problem not running the 264 or 272 exhaust cam before I order. I can't think of one, but thought I'd ask.

Or would the 272 be a better choice on a NT? I was told the "wilder" cam would be a much better choice on a NT.

Any idea what type of gain I could see?

As for other mods I basically have Intake, full exhaust(H/TP/E), AFPR, Ported Intake Manifold, and the turbo cams which don't matter too much since they will be getting replaced. :)

I plan on ordering sometime in the next few days. Thanks in advance.

I don't see it as being a huge problem, yes it is much "bigger"/aggressive than a stock turbo cam I can't see it cause any problems other than your idle will probably be really crappy...your low end may improve a little (since you are NA and need backpressure) so it might actually help over all performance.

BTW do you mind me asking why you are doing all this to an NA motor? How fast have you gotten your car to go? 15sec? 14sec? since you only have a 92' I would try to save up and get a turbo model....never mind though you bought the NA cause you wanted NA don't listen to me I'm not trying to change you its just my own personal judgement

No real sense in getting a bigger intake cam and not the exhaust. It'd be more beneficial to get the exhaust cam, if you're dead set on only getting one.....

Thanks for the replies. :)

I am doing this to a NA because I LOVE my car. :) I have a turbo DSM as well. It's in the background of my sig pic actually. It's a 90 Laser RS-T. For some reason though I'm more interested in trying to make my NA faster. I know I can make the Turbo much faster so I'm taking on the challenge of beefing up my NA. :)

As far as how quick my NA is, I can only speculate. It "feels" like a 15sec. car. I have never gone to the track though. I can say that I had a chance to drive a completely stock NA DSM a few weeks back and then drive my car. HUGE difference.

I plan on getting BOTH cams in the near future, but decided to just get one right now. And after driving my car a lot, it feels as if I really need to open up my intake charge a lot more which is why I was thinking of just getting the intake cam for now.
