New Downpipe- No Air/fuel reading

The story- I found a place online selling RSR Downpipes for $120. Great! I pick one up for my Tsi and luckily it bolts directly to my Apexi Dunk cat-back (eliminates the cat too), no problems...only took 20 minutes to install. I think everything is going well. I go out for a drive and notice that my Air/fuel gauge isn't reading anything...no bars, just a black screen. Then the CEL comes on. This didn't happen when I swapped the DP on my AWD. Any ideas? Did I kill an O2 sensor by simply bolting on a new DP?

Did you place the grounding strap back onto the new downpipe? If not, there is your problem.

Hmmm. Good call. Its there, but maybe I need to grind off the coating so it makes better contact. Thanks!
